“Charismatic Occasion – Cantonese Opera” reflects the life of the Cantonese Opera actors in different times. Either on stage or on the boat, they dictated their life on time for the audiences at that time also at the future. The exhibition referred iconic events and design including costumes, stages, and storytelling. Just like western operas, those acts were altered by true stories.

The exhibition was built around a “Red Boat” which is a floating stage for those who worked either as a performer, a sailor or a technician and it was their home as well. The aim of this project is to bring up awareness of this sunset industry and all the history around Cantonese Opera, including costume design, music, vocal, audience seats, way of observing and changes and alternation on different times and areas. Audiences are available to take a closer look on these elements by touches and other interactions, with the knowledge they are going to take away, this intangible heritage will still shine and echo as images and voices in our audience minds.
