Project 2: Sensory Project / Year 2 The Perspective Chair The Perspective Chair is an abstract design, inspired by the ‘De-Stijl’ movement, this design is an adaptation on the famous art movement. Bright and eye-catch steel frames that encourages users to feel safe, secure, happy whilst sitting on the chair. This is contrasted by a transparent polycarbonate seat that organically flows and covers the entirety of the steel frames acting as a metaphor for clarity and awareness. For example, although you may feel comfortable, secure, and strong, emphasised by the welded steel and colourful frames holding you up high, away from discomfort and in a utopia, the transparent seat emphasises that we must still be aware of the destructive nature and devastation that realistically happens all over the world. A statement that although you may be lucky to be comfortable, we must not be blinded and must have a perspective that allows us to see the negatives too. Portfolio Item 14
