On The Sea

On The Sea is a project based on reusing abandoned Hydraulic Tower and Pumphouse located in the conservative area of St Andrews Dock in Hull. The main focus of the design proposal is working with the existing using Fred Scott’s strategy for alteration in order to get the most out of the building’s potential. Mixing old with new,  connecting past with presence will help to create a unique narrative. A narrative which will cherish the history rather than let it decay with the time passing by. The Old Pumphouse will be converted into Health and Safety training centre for fishermen and women. The proposal will also aim to promote and support females within the sector of fishing off shore.
