Variegata

‘Variegata ’is an eclectic Spring/Summer womenswear collection designed by Rose Hall. The collection is a homage to the garden of her childhood home, and how it inspired her new found love of indoor gardening since moving away. The collection featured bold botanical prints in feminine silhouettes and lightweight fabrics; referencing eveningwear trends of the early 2000s, relevant while Rose was living in her childhood home that inspired the collection. ‘Variegata ’is derived from the latin word ‘variegatus ’which translates to ‘made of various sorts of colours. ’When used in the plant trade, if capitalised and in quotations, such as with the title of this collection, it refers to a man-made variegated cultivar. This mirrors the concept of biomimicry used within this collection; a wearable, manufactured garden.
