For the Level 3 major project, a travelling event was created for participants aged between 2 years and 5 years allowing the conjoining observer to look more closely into their current state of development, specifically their physical ability, imaginative thought, motor and memory skills as well as language and communication skills finishing off with a sensory experience where the observer is able to speak to Kids In Sync staff about any queries or worries regarding the child’s development.
The event travels to different locations across Kent, staying at a single location for a 5-week duration, where each week holds a different focus linking with the abilities discussed above. This allows for any child who has an existing development related diagnoses such as Autism, Asperges Syndrome or any other neurological difference to be looked at closely to then gain indication on what can be adapted within the child’s regular environments, it is an experience that also welcomes those who appear neurologically average as well as children that may appear behind in developmental areas but may not necessarily spark cause of concern.
Overall this event has been designed to guide parents and carers of young children to gain insight on the developmental processes, gaining enhanced access on new information that they may be actively or subconsciously seeking, this is a learning experience for all involved and enjoyable for the participants involved.
Designed by Jessica Appleby-Newman guided by the work of Kids In Sync.
