A quirky, theatrical exhibition, held as an evening event for ages 16+, to inform those who have an interest in the weird and wonderful culture of the Victorian Era (1837-1901), as well as to spark and satisfy morbid curiosities. Located at the Barbican Hotel in Lincoln, visitors will be directed through the venue, floor by floor, experiencing the bizarre oddities of the Victorian period.
Each floor will focus on one of three themes; the sexualisation and eroticism of “the bedroom”, lifting the lid on the “conventional Victorian home” and peering in from the outside on the dark and eccentric oddities that lie beneath the conventional Victorian era. This exhibition transports the audience back in time to a world of obscurity to unveil the facade of Victorianna with a magnifying glass.
