Jules Scheele

Jules Scheele (he/him) is a freelance illustrator, comics artist and live scribe based in Glasgow, Scotland. Jules specialises in graphic storytelling that translates and brings a human touch to difficult concepts, especially across academic and third sector projects.  
 

Jules has a decade’s consistent experience as a live scribe (recent clients include the Scottish Government, the NHS, University College London, LGBT Youth Scotland and the Open University).  
Jules’ personal illustration work consists of comics, zines and (mostly risographed) prints; and is heavily influenced by his interests in queer art, pop culture, subcultures, camp, fashion illustration, autobio/alternative comics and manga, propaganda and pop art, grassroots politics and DIY zine culture.  Jules has also illustrated a range of books, including Sexuality: A Graphic Guide with Dr Meg-John Barker (Icon Books 2021) and Release The Beast – A Drag Queen’s Guide to Life by Bimini Bon Boulash (Viking books 2021)
